Titanomachia Server Components

The Server Components were written for the Java Platform. Basically they exist to extend server-side APIs from Sun Microsystems and others to provide a more complete solution to the problem domain

The projects all utilize the Ant build tool available from the Apache-Jakarta project. The Ant build tool has several advantages over traditional make tools. Among these advantages are a well defined document structure (the DTD, or Document Type Definition, which is part of XML) and the inherent tab/space problem that has existed within make for years.

The projects also all utilize the CVS source and document repository tool. Each set of components exist in their own module (i.e. the Servlet Framework is found in module servlet, while the Business Event framework will be found in the bievent module).

Furthermore, there is no defined IDE or editor used for this project -- programmers are allowed the freedom to utilize any development tools necessary as long as a few rules are adhered to:

• The Coding Standards are strongly adhered to.
• The command-line build using Ant is never broken by checked-in code

No trees or endangered species were killed in the process of developing these frameworks and components, however, billions of electrons were inconvenienced to varying degrees.
